In December 2018 Kelda Wood, the founder of Climbing Out, will be attempting to become the first adaptive person ever to solo row the Atlantic as part of the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge. Kelda’s taking on the 3,000 mile challenge in the aim of raising awareness that mental or physical trauma may be life changing, but it doesn’t have to be life ending. She also aims to raise over £50,000 for Climbing Out.

Things are moving at a rate of knots (pardon the pun!!) and her Ocean Rowing Boat, Storm Petrel, has arrived and Kelda’s completed her first row! There’s a HUGE amount still to learn and a lot of work to be done, but things are looking good!

Every day Kelda’s on the ocean she’ll be rowing for a different young person, and we’ll be sharing these stories in the hope of raising awareness about the different challenges young people are facing. The participants from Climbing Out will play a major role in making this happen and they’re very much part of the Row to Raise team.
